History of the Club

The island of the “Zero Meridian” was historically El Hierro until 1890 before the discovery of the Greenwich Meridian.

MERIDIANO CERO was the island’s first diving center, created by a fisherman. From now on, it is a multi-language speaking diving centre affiliated with the CMAS and SSI (Training Center # 711393) run by Céline and Claude, a Franco-Belgian couple, to the great happiness of the Herreños, who, because of their friendliness and good humor, are happy to warmly welcome different nationalities and help them discover the wonders of their island.

At MERIDIANO CERO, we speak FRENCH, ENGLISH and SPANISH of course!

Club Spirit and Capacity

We have deliberately chosen a protected island with environmental constraints and a small, friendly family structure:

  • To explore the preserved seabed of the island with our divers in small private groups: the sites of the Reserve constrain to 12 divers including the guides (6 per guide), which allows the whole small group to enjoy serenely the exploration and the observation of the species. We only take 6 people.
  • Passing on our passion during private training courses
  • To live from our passion while trying to respect our environment by limiting the number of divers, by raising awareness about the protection of the ocean, the Marine Reserve, …

El Hierro is also unsuitable for disabled person diving, so we are unable to take disabled divers.

La Restinga

The Boat "MERIDIANO"

Our 200CV semi-rigid transports 10 divers for maximum comfort (with guides) to dive sites in less than 15 minutes!

It is equipped with a ladder at the back, oxygen therapy equipment and all the necessary emergency rescue equipment, and even more …
